Canon 20D, 3200 ASA (Hi) mode, manual exposure, 70-200 F2.8 L and monopod. Canon equipment is rumoured to have the edge over Nikon in terms of lower noise levels at high ASA settings and I was very pleased with the results. Shooting in raw mode also allowed me to grab another couple of stops as I used manual exposure about two stops below the recommended setting. I adjusted final exposure in the raw converter. The very first shot was popped through Neat Image to reduce the noise levels even further. A good return of very usable action photographs resulted under difficult conditions through good technique, knowledge of equipment and experience with post processing operations.
